Camber Coaches Couples

Being in a committed relationship can be super complicated. Each person arrives on the scene with romantic intentions and a suitcase of deeply seated experiences and secrets both positive and negative.

Next is creating a life together which means dovetailing each other’s stuff into a workable situation which brings a host of other negotiations and obstacles to contend with.

After the honeymoon is over these issues, secrets, and foibles will surface and can cause passive-aggressive behavior, bitterness, resentment and more, which can threaten to destroy the little bit of heaven you may have worked hard to create together.

Every relationship, no matter how soulful, will experience these difficult times. Thus, when your last button is pushed and your final nerve is stomped on that’s when coaching can play a major role in re-establishing harmony in your home and relationship.

Don’t let silly outdated stigmas about counseling deter you from engaging in coaching

The International Coach Federation (ICF) defines coaching as:   “…partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential, which is particularly important in today’s uncertain and complex environment. Coaches honor the client as the expert in his or her life and work and believe every client is creative, resourceful and whole. Standing on this foundation, the coach's responsibility is to:

  • Discover, clarify, and align with what the client wants to achieve

  • Encourage client self-discovery

  • Elicit client-generated solutions and strategies

  • Hold the client responsible and accountable."

Having seen each person privately and having learned the issues identified by each person, I arrive at some discerning observations which will be discussed when we all come together for our final couples session. Here we create a safe place to discuss the issues and concerns and learn new coping mechanisms to deal with future issues while snuffing out the fire of the past matters.

Many times the three sessions package is enough to move ahead. For others, more individual sessions might be fitting or more couples session.
